for everyone
i've heard many people comment: when gma goes, who replaces her?  isa na namang corrupt...pare-pareho lang naman sila...

often, it is the act of courage of speaking out, or marching, or protesting that is the most important step.

edsa is not a single formula.  it isn't in fact a formula.  edsa 1 and 2 were events that were the culmination of many things that prepared the people for something as edsa 1.  edsa 2, as one ANC guest said yesterday, spoilt us.  it was too quick, too unthought of.  edsa 1 was the event that was the logical conclusion of many years of activism of the people, and the unrelentless organizing before and during martial law years.

when the pro-gma forces said that yesterday's rally at makati was not going to be another edsa, for the first time in many, many months they were correct.  of course nobody in his/her right mind thought that it was going to be another edsa.  times are different, the context is different, and people change.

we need to continue the vigilance, not to think that the makati rally is THE end.  it is merely the beginning.

it's not the Church, not the military who will decide.  it is the people.

i totally agree with this.

but.

before the people can make an informed decision, they must first be educated and that is where the problem is.
